Twenty community leaders were nominated by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Texas Gulf Coast Chapter for its 2012 Man & Woman of the Year campaign. Over nine weeks, the candidates raised funds for blood cancer research while building awareness of leukemia and lymphoma.
The campaign culminated in the Grand Finale Awards Gala at River Oaks Country Club on Friday, June 1, 2012. Together, the candidates raised more than $580,000.
Brian Ross was named Man of the Year after he and his campaign team raised $123,482. Harry Faulkner was runner-up with more than $118,000, and Verr Soltes was named Woman of the Year.
